Getting started

Berchtold for iPhone

Your tasks, contacts, deals, email, goals and reports on your iPhone, with your contacts kept in the iPhone's Contacts.

The Berchtold app shows the work of your workspace on your iPhone. It uses the same account and the same data as the web app. A change in one shows in the other.

Open the app and sign in as you do on the web. Use your email and password, Google or Apple. The app does not make new accounts. If you are new, ask your workspace admin to invite you, and accept the invitation on the web first.

If you are in more than one workspace, tap the workspace name under a page title to change workspace.

What you can do

  • Today: your open tasks, new leads nobody answered, and messages that wait for your approval. Tap the circle to mark a task done, or swipe the task to the left.
  • Contacts: search, sort, filter, add and edit contacts. Call or text from the contact's page; the iPhone's Phone and Messages apps open. Add a note, add a task, or write an email.
  • Deals: your open deals, the next closing first. Sort and filter them to see other deals. See the price, GCI, key dates, next steps and people. Change the stage with Move stage.
  • Email: results of your campaigns (delivered, opens, clicks, links, unsubscribes and bounces) and a preview of each. Under To approve, read, change, approve or stop the messages that wait for you.
  • Reports: Production, Pipeline, Leads, Contacts and Email, with the same numbers as the web. Tap a number to see its deals or contacts. Change the period and whose numbers you see with Show.
  • Goals: at the top of Reports. See your goal, your pace and what is pending. Team leaders and brokers see each person's goal and can change it.

Sort and filter contacts and deals

Under the search box on Contacts and Deals:

  • Sort shows the order in use. Tap it to choose another order, for example Last name A–Z or Close: soonest first.
  • Filter shows how many filters are on. Tap it, then tap a line to choose, for example Owner, Lifecycle or Status. Tap Done to see the list.
  • Each filter that is on shows as a chip under the buttons. Tap a chip to remove that filter. Tap Clear to remove all of them.

The filters are the same as on the web. Owner can be you, anyone, nobody (Unassigned) or one teammate. Each list starts with your own records, and Deals starts with open deals only. The phone keeps your sort and filters for each list and workspace until you change them.

To write one email to a contact, open the contact and tap Email. Write the subject and message, then tap Preview. You see the email as the contact will get it, with your signature. Tap Send. The email is logged on the contact.

iPhone Contacts

Turn this on in Contacts → iPhone Contacts. Your Berchtold contacts then go to a Berchtold group in the iPhone's Contacts, so calls and texts show their names.

  • Only the contacts you own go to the iPhone.
  • If you already have a card with the same email, Berchtold uses that card. It does not make a second one.
  • Berchtold changes only the name, one email, one phone number and the company. Your other numbers and emails stay.
  • A change you make to one of these cards on the iPhone goes back to Berchtold. When a contact changed in both places, Berchtold's version is kept.
  • If you delete a card on the iPhone, Berchtold does not add it again.
  • A contact can leave your list in Berchtold: it is deleted, merged or given to a teammate. Then the app removes the card it made. A card you made yourself only leaves the group.

To add iPhone contacts to Berchtold, tap Add from iPhone and choose them. Nothing goes to Berchtold until you choose it. A contact needs an email to come in, because Berchtold uses the email to find each person.

The app syncs when you open it, and every 15 minutes while it is open. Tap Sync now to sync at once. If you turn the sync off, the contacts stay on your iPhone and stop changing.

Notifications

The app asks once if you want notifications. You get the same kinds as on the web. These include new leads, assigned tasks, reminders, messages to approve and the weekly report. Choose the kinds on your Profile on the web. Turn notifications off for this phone in the app's Settings.

What stays on the web

Writing and scheduling campaigns, documents, contract terms, settings, integrations and export are on the web. The app has an Open on the web link where you need one.

Without a connection

The screens you opened in the last day stay readable. Changes need a connection; the app tells you when you are offline.
