Where it goes
Each person writes their own signature, one for each workspace. Your signature goes in these places:
- One-to-one email from a contact or a deal. It goes under your message.
- Emails with the Signature block. Each email shows the signature of the agent who sends it. A workspace campaign uses each contact's own agent.
- Automations that send as the contact's owner, through the same block.
- Drafts from the assistant that you approve. These are plain text, so they get the text of your signature.
When you have no signature, nothing is added. The email still goes.
Write your signature
Open your Profile and go to Email signature. Each workspace has its own card.
Select Start from the layout of your workspace. It fills the workspace's signature layout with your name, title, phone and email. Or select Write your own.
Use bold, italic, underline, links, images and brand colors. You can also paste a signature from Gmail or Outlook. The workspace's signature rules show next to the editor.
The preview shows your signature under a short message, at desktop and phone width.
Select Save signature.
Images
Select Image, then Upload an image. The image goes to the media library, which gives it a web address that email needs. Add alternative text that says what the image shows.
To add files to the media library, you need the right to publish or to edit email. If you can't add files, paste an image address that starts with https://.
The HTML view
Select HTML to see and edit the source. Select Editor to go back. The editor reads the HTML as you wrote it.
What is removed
When you save, Berchtold removes parts that email programs block or that are not safe:
- Scripts, style sheets, frames and forms.
- Script attributes such as
onclick. - Links that don't start with
https://,http://,mailto:ortel:. - Images whose address doesn't start with
https://. - Personal fields such as
{{agent.name}}. Type your details instead.
After you save, a message lists what was removed. A signature can be up to 20 KB.
Turn it off for one email
In the one-to-one email dialog, turn off Include my signature to send that message without it.
In a template
In the builder, add the Signature block from Components. The field is {{agent.signature}}. Use it in the body of the email, not in the subject.
