Assistant steps

An Assistant step asks the Assistant for a result, such as a summary, a choice or an email. Later steps can use the result or branch on it.

Workspace settingAvailability is controlled by your workspace. Ask your administrator about access.

What an Assistant step does

An Assistant step asks the Assistant for a result. The Assistant reads the record, what started the run, and your instructions. It does not read other records.

Later steps can use the result in a text. An if/else step can also branch on it.

The skills

SkillThe result
SummarizeA short summary of the record and what started the run
ClassifyOne of your options, for example buyer, seller or renter. It also gives a confidence and a reason.
Suggest the next stepWhat the agent should do next, why, and a task title
Write a personal emailA subject and a body in the voice of your brand

Use the result

Each result has a name, for example summary or choice. Use it in a later step as {{steps.<step id>.summary}}.

To branch, add an if/else step after a Classify step. Check if the choice is "buyer". The Yes path and the No path can then do different work.

Approval

An email that the Assistant writes goes out only after a person approves it. Choose how each step gets approval:

  • Always. Each result waits in the Inbox for a person.
  • When trust is earned. Results wait in the Inbox until people approve enough of them. Then safe results go on without a wait.
  • Never. Use this only for steps that do not send anything.

Check the first results of a new Assistant step. Change the instructions if the results are not correct.
