Set the contract’s dates
Open a deal and find Key dates. Record the contract date and expected close. When the deal lists its contract deadlines, select each deadline to enter the term that actually applies.
A deadline can be a specific date, a number of days relative to another event, or Not in this contract. Not set means the term has not been recorded. Do not substitute a typical period for the signed contract's terms.
Changing an anchor date can recalculate a relative deadline. A manually entered date remains a separate choice. Review dependent dates after recording an amendment.
What “Deadline terms and history” means
Expand Deadline terms and history. It shows each saved date, status, and term. It also shows any saved extensions, notes, or quotes from the source.
These details come from saved deadline data. People can enter terms or accept the contract reader's suggestions. Older records and imports may carry earlier data. This section does not prove that work was done. It may not include events outside Berchtold.
A past date is not completion
A passed deadline can prompt a review. It does not establish that an inspection happened, financing was approved, possession transferred, or closing occurred. Record the actual outcome and complete the associated task when the work is done.
Use Tasks to assign work, set alerts, and mark work done. A task or status change may trigger a workflow. Review those rules. A change to a date alone does not prove work is done.
If a closing-date edit fails
Read the field's error message and check your access. Are you editing Expected close, or recording an event that happened? If the value reverts, reload and check Activity. Keep the error for your admin. Do not mark other work done to force a save.
