Move deals on the board
Open Deals. The board shows one pipeline at a time. Each column is a stage, with its number of deals and their total value. Each card shows the deal's value, owner, close date and next deadline.
Drag a card to another column to change its stage. With a keyboard, press Space to pick up a card, use the arrow keys to move it, then press Enter.
Select List to see the deals as a table. Select Board to go back.
Phases connect your pipelines
Each stage can have a phase: Lead, Engaged, Active, Under contract or Closed. Automations and reports use phases, so they work the same in every pipeline.
- A deal in a stage with the Closed phase is Won. When you mark a deal Won, it moves to the Closed stage.
- A deal can be Lost in any stage.
- A deal in an Under contract stage shows on the Transactions page. It also gets its contract deadlines. See Contract deadlines and tasks.
Make or change a pipeline
Open Deals → Pipelines. Select New pipeline, or select Edit on a pipeline. On the board, you can also open Pipeline options and select Edit pipeline. You need the Configure permission in CRM.
- Name: the name of the pipeline.
- Default column color: the color of every column that has no color of its own.
- Usual deal side: new deals in this pipeline start with this side.
- Stages: they show left to right on the board. Give each stage a color and a phase. Use the stage menu to move, archive or remove it. Select Add stage to add one.
Select Save. Deals in the pipeline update to match.
Keep a list of loss reasons
When you mark a deal Lost, you can give a Loss reason and Loss details. A loss reason is optional.
To give people a list to choose from, open Contacts → Fields, then the Deals tab. Find Loss reason and select Edit options. Enter one reason on each line, then select Save options. With no list, people type the reason.
Add task templates to a pipeline
In Deals → Pipelines, open More pipeline settings and select Task templates. This opens Automations → Templates. Templates with the label Deal tasks make tasks when a deal moves to the stage that you choose. See Templates.
