Invite a client to the client portal

Give your buyers and sellers a private page for their transaction. They see where it stands, the key dates and the documents you share. They sign in with an email link.

Workspace settingAvailability is controlled by your workspace. Ask your administrator about access.

The client portal is a private page for your clients. It shows your brand. A client sees only the deals you invite them to.

On each deal, they see:

  • where the transaction stands, in plain words,
  • the key dates, done and coming,
  • the documents you share with them,
  • your name and email.

They never see notes, tasks, prices, other people on the deal or anything else in your CRM. Clients are not members of your workspace.

Invite a client

You can invite a client on a deal. A client is a buyer, seller, tenant or landlord on your side of the deal. The client needs an email address on their contact.

Open the deal

Find the client in People, under Clients.

Invite them

Open the menu (…) on the client's row. Select Invite to portal.

Send the invitation

Read who gets the email, then select Send invitation. The email goes out in your name. Replies come to you.

The client's row then says Portal: invited. After they sign in for the first time, it says Portal: active. You also get a notice in the app.

To send the email again, select Send portal invitation again in the same menu.

How your client signs in

There is no password. Each time, the client gets a one-time link by email.

  1. The client opens the invitation and selects Open your portal.
  2. They select Email me a link.
  3. They open the new email and select Sign in. Then they select Continue.

The link works once and expires in 15 minutes. A session lasts three days. After that, the client asks for a new link.

The invitation itself does not sign anyone in. If your client forwards it, the other person still cannot see the deal.

Share documents with a client

A document is private until you share it. In the deal's Documents, open the menu on a file and choose Share with clients. The client sees only the files you share with them.

Each time a client signs in, opens a file or downloads one, the deal's Activity shows it.

Remove a client

Open the menu

On the client's row in People, open the menu (…).

Remove them

Select Remove from portal, then Remove.

The client can no longer see this deal. If it was their only deal, they are signed out at once. We do not email them.

When something changes

  • The client's email changes. Their row says Portal: email changed. The old address stops working. Invite them again to send the invitation to the new address.
  • The client leaves the deal. You remove them from People, or give them a role that is not a client. They lose access to the deal. To give it back, invite them again.
  • The deal is archived. The client no longer sees it. Restore the deal to show it again.

What the client sees

The portal shows the deal's step: Getting started, Finding a home or On the market, Under contract and Closed. It lists the contract date and the contract's deadlines. A date that passed and that you have not marked yet says Being confirmed. A missed deadline is not shown.

The portal is in English for now.
