The Product Catalog

Maintain reviewed product facts that ground opportunity analysis and your brand’s knowledge.

What this does

The Product Catalog holds facts about what your brand sells and who it serves. It supports products and services. Product Opportunities checks new ideas against these facts. Search uses the catalog's terms to group results.

You can enable the catalog as a source in Knowledge settings. After the next sync, the public assistant can use facts approved for public use. Facts that change or are retired stop being used. Saving a draft does not approve its facts, refresh ideas or sync the assistant.

Add and improve products

Open Product Catalog under Brand. You can use it even when Product Opportunities is off. Viewers can read and export. Editors can make changes. Saving facts does not turn on the tool that finds new product ideas.

Choose Add product, enter a name, then add its description, category, capabilities, audiences and models. A SKU or stable ID keeps imports matched to the right entry. Leave it blank on a new product to generate an ID. Add a public source page so the original information is easy to check.

Choose Apply to draft, then Save catalog. Applying a product updates your draft; saving updates the shared catalog.

Search by name, ID, audience or model. Use Needs context to find gaps in an entry, such as its type or who it serves. This flags missing facts. It does not score their quality or check brand rules.

Import safely

Choose Import catalog, then a website or JSON source. You can provide a specific product page, upload a JSON file, or paste JSON. Website imports read a small set of pages and may not cover the full catalog. Check AI-extracted facts against the listed source pages.

Review the preview before applying it:

  • Add products and fill gaps matches by SKU / ID, keeps existing values, fills missing fields and adds new list items. Products with different IDs can still be duplicates; review them before saving.
  • Replace entire draft catalog replaces the products and portfolio guidance in your draft. Export a backup first if you need to keep the existing version.

Neither option saves automatically. Expand products in the preview, apply the import, review the draft and choose Save catalog.

JSON imports accept these fields:

  • Each entry: name, sku, category, brand, description, url, keywords, audience and model.
  • The full catalog: core_competencies and adjacency_notes.

Prices, stock and variants are not imported. Exports use JSON-LD with the fields above. You can save up to 500 entries, within the file size limit.

Guide product opportunities

Expand Portfolio guidance to list what your brand does well. Add limits on what it should offer next. These notes help us tell a good fit from an idea outside your scope.

Drafts, permissions and conflicts

Editors can change the catalog. Viewers can inspect and export it. Removing a product affects the draft first and takes effect only after saving.

Unsaved drafts recover when you return in the same browser tab, separately for each account and brand. Discard changes restores the latest loaded catalog. If someone else saves first, your save is blocked to protect their changes. Export your draft before discarding it and loading the newer catalog.
